Summertime Radness: Dombresky presents Disco Dom

French dance music producer, Quentin Dombres or professionally known as Dombresky has been producing music for nearly a decade and a half now. It took years for Dombresky to find his way out of local markets in France and onto the global level but that breakthrough occurred when he produced an official remix for A-Trak’s “We All Fall Down”.

From there, Dombresky’s career started to explode; connecting the dots with fellow Frenchman Tchami. The two created “Freakin” which debuted on Tchami’s EP. With that success, the two would collaborate again, when Dombresky released singles “Wait” and “Utopia” on Tchami’s label ‘Confession’.

As the music grew organically so has the touring, having played big US festival stages like Hard Summer, EDC, Nocturnal Wonderland and Holy Ship to name a few. 2017 and 2018 also saw individual growth for Dombresky in international territories with his own headline tours through Australia and China. Having received overwhelming support and praise from artists from all over the world including DJ Snake, Annie Mac, Tchami, and Anna Lunoe, Dombresky has surely cemented himself as one of new faces to the international house music scene.

Summertime Radness: Bakermat

Summertime Radness: Bakermat

Original. That word would describe Bakermat’s music best. It’s the absolute main goal for the 26-year-old from Amsterdam to create music that isn’t there yet. By combining genres that normally would never be combined, the Dutchman always surprises both his fans and colleagues. And although his productions are diverse, there is a key element that binds them all together: their feel-good sound. Simply put, his music makes people really happy.

Lodewijk Fluttert, aka Bakermat, started to discover music in his early teens, influenced by his mother, who is an opera singer, and dad, a fan of soul, funk and jazz. Already at an early age they showed him the wonders of classical, jazz and soul music. Influences that today can still be found in his music.

It all started back in 2012, when Bakermat first reached the charts with his debut-single ‘One Day (Vandaag)’. Since then he built up a loyal worldwide fan base, consisting of young people looking for something else than mainstream or underground music. Bakermat is proud to be in the grey area between these two, serving people with fresh, original and creative music without being incomprehensible or cheesy.

Besides music Bakermat often distinguishes himself with his live performances as well. Adding live-musicians at his performances and hosting his own concept ‘Bakermat presents The Circus’ he’s shown that he is more than just a producer. In the past years Bakermat hosted his own circus events in cities like London, New York, Amsterdam, Paris and Rio de Janeiro. He’s also a regular host of stages at Tomorrowland, Airbeat One Festival and other big festivals.

Bakermat took a 4 month break off touring in 2018 to focus on experimenting with music full time, to come up with new ideas and techniques. This resulted in a lot of new music scheduled to be released this year. The music will vary in genre and style but will always contain the main ingredient that makes it all typically Bakermat: a feel-good sound.

Summertime Radness: Audien

Grammy nominated producer and songwriter Audien has established himself as a fixture in the dance community, known for his masterful production prowess and unique propensity for uplifting melodies. Considered a staple in the progressive house genre, Audien launched his now decade-long career in 2008 with a string of releases on Anjunabeats, Armada Music, Spinnin’ Records, and Astralwerks. Over the years Audien solidified his signature sound and garnered the attention and support of industry veterans like Tiësto, Above & Beyond, and Armin van Buuren. In 2014, Audien released his Grammy nominated remix of Bastille’s “Pompeii”, which went on to become the most played track at Electric Daisy Carnival and Coachella, and one of the five most played tracks at Tomorrowland. It is no surprise then that Audien has become a mainstay at marquee festival brands across the world including Tomorrowland, EDC, Ultra, Lollapalooza, and many more.

Audien’s career growth and influence is evidenced by his impressive list of collaborators, which include Lady Antebellum, MAX, and Echosmith, on top of official remixes for Michael Jackson, Coldplay, Halsey, and Jess Glynne. Closing out the decade, Audien is set to release his debut LP Escapism on November 15th, 2019. The album is a definitive effort encapsulating both Audien’s signature style and his dominance in the dance landscape. Audien states, “I’m not reinventing the wheel, but I’m accentuating the art I’ve created for almost a decade. It’s the best form of what I’m known for.” Today Audien is at his strongest, with sights set on a continually jam-packed year ahead in 2023.

Summertime Radness: Phantoms

Phantoms, comprised of Los Angeles-based natives Kyle Kaplan and Vinnie Pergola, are a dance act that does exactly that. Often tough to box in... the boys' style lends itself to many elements of electronic and pop music; while still managing to always incorporate distinct synths and drum samples that have become synonymous with their "genre" of alternative electronic. Stemming from deep-seated roots in music and entertainment backgrounds, K&V put their entire beings into the project. They keep everyone continually dancing with an impressive live set of drum pads, synthesizers and midi controllers, while also keeping audiences engaged through their own style of humor on social media platforms. A full-time job for the band. Their fun and downright captivating personalities shine through all aspects of Phantoms.

After releasing their first EP in 2015 to massive press like Billboard and Entertainment Weekly, the duo has been remixing some of their favorite songs of the year and playing shows and touring with the likes of Big Wild, Com Truise, Kiesza and more.

The band's debut record, Phantoms, is currently out now via Casablanca/Republic Records.

Summertime Radness: Yung Bae

LA-based artist and producer Yung Bae heralds the rise of Future Funk, stewarding the sub-genre from the underground into a cult-like phenomena. Throughout his extensive catalog, now spread across 6 albums, Yung Bae immediately grabs his listener with a sound design that spans between smooth jazz, funk, old school hip-hop, to Studio 54 disco.

"To press play on any one of the 24-year old producer/DJ's releases is to be transported to a parallel universe, one that's full of beautiful impossibilities. No matter the age of his listeners, Yung Bae's music tends to stir up fond memories of decades past" ~Bandcamp Daily.

More recently, Yung Bae's the long-awaited seventh studio album, Groove Continental: Side A, comes out March 4th. Leading the release is the star-packed record "L.O.V.E. featuring Earthgang, Jon Batiste and Sherwyn." Bassy, AWOLNATION and many more, with early press support from HYPEBEAST, VICE, FLAUNT, SPIN, to name a few.

Groove Continental: Side A follows a string of buzzworthy releases, including "Bad Boy" which counts over 150 million streams worldwide, the "Bad Boy" remix, featuring Wiz Khalifa, MAX and bbno$, along with 2 sold out headline tours in the US and Asia, back-to-back nights at the Novo in LA, Brooklyn Steel in NY, as well as appearances at Coachella, Outside Lands and Electric Forest to name a few.

More recently Yung Bae had partnered with Apple Music to launch his new radio show, Groove Continental Radio, on Apple Music Hits. In a short span the radio show has hosted artists such as Jungle, Nile Rodgers, Madeon, UPSAHL, bbno$, Elderbrook, MAX and others.
